“COME SING WITH US…AND THE SAN ANTONIO SYMPHONY!”
—San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers to Hold Auditions
August 18 and 25—
WHAT: The San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers, under the direction of John Silantien, will hold auditions August 18 and 25. Openings are available in all voice parts. Auditions consist of vocalizations, ear testing, sight-reading, and a prepared solo (if the singer has one). An accompanist will be provided.
The Mastersingers’ 74th concert season, 2018–19, will begin with a performance of Brahms’s Requiem in the 1871 London performance edition. The concert will be part of the Chapel of the Incarnate Word concert series. A special series of performances in the community of the perennial favorite Messiah follow in December as well as the traditional Holiday Pops. In the spring the Mastersingers perform on a program of British Music and also present their annual Musical Shower of Roses at the stunning Basilica of the Little Flower. The season concludes with the bombastic score to the classic movie Alexander Nevsky by Sergei Prokofiev.
WHEN: Auditions will be held August 18 and 25.
